Massage therapy enhances the rehabilitative effects of acupuncture. Massage acts on the entire body to relieve pain and discomfort and provide a deep sense of relaxation. On its own or in conjunction with other treatments, it helps increase the body's regenerative ability and release the proper flow of energy.

In addition to releasing stress and providing deep relaxation, massage is used to improve the overall functioning of the body including:

  • lymphatic and circulatory systems
  • posture and body alignment
  • decreasing muscle spasms
  • inhibiting and breaking up the formation of scar tissue
  • lowering blood pressure
  • alleviating discomfort during pregnancy.

At East-West Integrative Medicine, we use a variety of massage styles, including Shiatsu, Tui Na, deep tissue, prenatal, and sports massage. We offer one-hour therapeutic massage appointments, as well as its use in conjunction with other treatments.
